Spearman's Campaign 1
A downloadable game for Windows
Welcome to Spearman's Campaign 1! This is an 2D platformer adventure game that is set in medieval times. Where exactly in medieval times? I don't know, I didn't base it off of any historical place. Anyway, it is relatively short, and to be honest isn't very good.
In Spearman's Campaign 1 you play as John, a young man wielding a spear (hence the name of the game), and wearing a gambeson (medieval fabric armor). He approaches a village controlled by bandits under the leadership of Lord Carl Johnson. John has to fight his way through the bandits, and do some parkour too.
This is one of the first games I have made, and game development is just my hobby, so don't judge the game too hard.
There isn't a tutorial, the instructions are in a provided Word document, but I'll post the game controls here:
- A – Move left (hold to move)
- D – Move right
- Space – Jump
- Enter – Attack
- K – Start dialogue
- L – Next line
There is also no menu screen or quit button, so the game starts as soon as it boots, and you must use Alt + F4 to close it, or use Alt + tab to switch to a different tab and then close it there.
The trailer music is the theme {snd047 - "Mirai no Shinryaku-sha" (未来の侵略者, "Invaders of the Future")} from the game "The Battle Cats" by PONOS. (please don't sue me PONOS I'm just some guy making a free video game)
I also made the trailer as a school project before the game was released, so some of the details there don't make sense.

This game is also built for Windows 64-bit systems. This means that the game will not work on a MacBook.
Please download the Word document first, it has instructions on how to download and play the game that are better than this text here.
After downloading this Word document, download the whole folder above the document, as all parts of it are necessary.
To play the game, select the “Spearman’s Campaign 1” .exe file and click ‘open’. The game has no menu, and you will spawn into the game immediately.
